Iraq calls for expansion of cultural ties with Iran

Iran-Iraq-Cultural Week
The head of an Iraqi delegation currently visiting Tehran called for all-out cultural relations with Iran, expressing his pleasure with Iraqi Cultural Week being held in Tehran from July 22.

On the sidelines of the inaugural ceremony of Iraq's cultural week in Tehran, he said that the two countries are due to ink an agreement on scientific, educational and cultural cooperation.

Referring to a book fair to be held during the cultural week, he said that 550 titles of books will be put on display in the fair.

Two painting and photo galleries displaying works of Iraqi painters and photographers will be held in Tehran during a week.

Some 170 Iraqi scholars, authors and media officials as well as a number of Iranian cultural officials took part in the opening ceremony.

Presenting visual arts and performing music, theater and movies are among the programs to be implemented during cultural event.

Iraq's cultural week will be open to public until July 28.
