President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad of Iran has sent a memorial plaque for the family of the martyred Lebanese Hezbollah commander, Imad Mughnieh, who was assassinated by Israeli terrorist bombing last February.

The plaque was handed over to martyr Mughnieh's family on Friday by vice-president for cultural and art affairs Javad Shamqadri who is currently in Beirut to discuss ways to promote Iran-Lebanon cultural cooperation.

Martyr Mughnieh was assassinated in a car bombing carried by Israeli terrorists in Damascus, Syria, on February 12.

Shamqadri attended the martyr's tomb in Beirut's southern suburb and then met with his family members.

Mughnieh's family appreciated Iran's spiritual support for the people of Lebanon and their resistance to Israeli expansionist goals.
