Bahman Qobadi's films screened in US

Feature and short films by award-winning Iranian filmmaker Bahman Qobadi were screened at annual Robert Flaherty Film Seminar in New York.

The event entitled 'The Age of Migration' was held on the occasion of the 54th annual Robert Flaherty Film Seminar named after the American classical documentary producer, Robert Flaherty.

'Turtles Also Fly', 'A Time for Drunken Horses', 'Half Moon', ' Life in Fog', and 'Daf', are among Qobadi's works.

Qobadi's 'Turtles Also Fly' has won numerous international awards including the Best Film Award at the 52nd San Sebastian Film Festival.

The director is presently collaborating with the renowned Mexican scriptwriter Arriaga Guillermo on the script for his latest film '60 Minutes About Us'.

Qobadi's documentaries depict the beautiful landscape and dramatic lives of the Kurdish residents of the Iran-Iraq border areas.

The seminar kicked off on June 27 and will run until July 7.
