Iran-South Africa-Meet
Iran and South Africa on Saturday reviewed further expansion of bilateral cooperation in the areas of energy and industries.

In a meeting held between Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister Mohammad-Reza Baqeri and South African Foreign Minister Dlamini Zuma, the two sides called for bilateral cooperation in construction of power plants and refineries.

The meeting was held in the city of Durban, the venue of the two-day meeting of the Southern African Development Community's (SADC) security troika.

During the meeting, the two officials also underscored the need for making joint investment in the areas of industries and oil sector.

Briefing the South African minister on the latest developments in the Persian Gulf and the Middle East, Baqeri termed the outcome of the two countries joint working committee as positive.

The agenda of the next foreign ministers meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) which is to be held in Tehran on July 28-29 was also discussed by the two sides.

Baqeri expressed the hope that Tehran would host the NAM foreign ministers meeting.
