India, Bangladesh FMs to meet today

New Delhi, July 17, IRNA

India-Bangladesh-Talks
The Foreign secretaries of India and Bangladesh are meeting in New Delhi Thursday in the backdrop of Bangladeshi link having been found in recent terror incidents in India.

Besides promotion of trade and commerce relations, the two sides will discuss cross-border crimes during the day-long parley between Shivshankar Menon and his Bangladeshi counterpart Mohd Touhid Hossain.

Infiltration by terrorists via the Bangladesh border is easier as it is a porous frontier. Menon is likely to take up the issue of Bangladesh being used by terrorists as a base en route to India to carry out anti-India activities, sources said here quoting officials.

The two sides are also expected to discuss issues related to the common river water sharing.
