Iran, India enjoy strategic ties: Judiciary chief

Judiciary Chief, Ayatollah Mahmoud Hashemi Shahroudi said Iran and India enjoy rich and appropriate strategic bilateral relations.

In a meeting with Indian ambassador to Tehran, he stressed that Tehran-New Delhi should not be affected by hostile attitude of certain Western states, including the US.

Ayatollah Shahroudi urged Iran and India not to be influenced by the Western culture which is in no conformity with that of the Eastern states.

On regional cooperation, he said the vigilance of regional nations has paved the way for further expansion of all-out cooperation among the regional states.

The eastern countries are cradle of justice-seeking attitude and human values, he said, adding that the regional nations are trying hard to revive their ancient civilization.

The Judiciary chief further praised resistance of the Indian nation against the British colonialism and called for further boost in relations among the eastern countries.

As to Iran's great achievements in different areas, particularly in the industrial field, he stressed that the future of the region is bright and promising.
