Iran-China-Talks
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Liu Jianchao on Thursday urged the EU to make efforts to resume diplomatic talks with Iran on the country's peaceful nuclear program.
Talking to reporters during his weekly press briefing, he referred to Iran's nuclear issue as a sensitive and complicated one.
He added that appropriate ground has been prepared for negotiation and settlement of the issue.
Referring to the Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki's recent letter to his Chinese counterpart Yang Jiechi, he reiterated that Tehran has announced its readiness for dialogue and negotiations.
Welcoming the move by Tehran, Jianchao expressed the hope that Iran's nuclear issue would be resolved through diplomatic channels.
Beijing is trying hard to help resolve Iran's nuclear standoff with the West through peaceful and diplomatic ways.
