Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Mehdi Safari on Monday evening met with a number of Iranians residing in Austria.

At the meeting, Safari outlined the latest regional developments as well as future of Iran-Europe relations.

He briefed Iranian businessmen, physicians and engineers on Iran's nuclear program and also the effects sanctions imposed against Iran by US and West on Iranian economy.

Safari stressed the need for cooperation between Iran and Iranian expatriates in Austria.

Visiting Austria at the invitation of his Austrian counterpart, the deputy foreign minister is due to hold talks with a number of Austrian officials.
