Iran-Interior Ministry-Caretaker
President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad issued a decree on Wednesday appointing Mehdi Hashemi as the caretaker of the Interior Ministry, a daily reported on Thursday.

Hashemi will succeed Mostafa Pour-Mohammadi, the outgoing interior minister, the Persian-language `Iran' said.

Hashemi is currently served as deputy interior minister for development affairs.
