Mottaki: Iran to establish 2nd consulate in Turkmenbashi Port

Foreign Minister said on Thursday that the second consulate of Islamic Republic will be established in Turkmenbashi Port in Turkmenistan.

Manouchehr Mottaki who was speaking at Bandar Gaz port city's administrative council added Golestan is one of the border provinces of the country which has joint border with the countries of Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan and other central Asian countries.

Iran has currently a consulate in Turkmenistan, he said adding that studies on establishment of second consulate in Turkmenistan are under way.

Referring to considerable volume of Iran-Turkmenistan economic transactions, Mottaki noted that once Iran's second consulate opened in that country, Turkmenistan will reopen its consulate in the province of Golestan.

"Currently, Turkmenistan has a consulate in Mashhad, Khorasan Razavi province," he said.
