Iran's Cultural Week inaugurated in Russia

Iran's first Cultural Week was opened in Moscow Monday evening in an official ceremony participated by Iran's Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Mohammad-Hossein Saffar- Harandi.


The ceremony was also attended by a number of Russian cultural figures as well as a group of Iranian nationals residing in Russia and a number of foreign diplomats.

Addressing the ceremony, the Iranian minister said that the event would pave the way for establishment of a closer relation between the Iranian and Russian nations.

Saffar-Harandi added that performing various cultural programs including playing Iran's classic music, displaying works of a number of Iranian artists and their handicrafts as well as screening a number of Iranian films would prepare a better ground for further familiarity between the two neighboring states.

The Iranian minister arrived in Moscow Sunday at the head of a delegation to attend the inauguration ceremony of Iran's Cultural Week.
