Head of the Islamic Republic of Iran's Broadcasting (IRIB) Ezatollah Zarghami said here Thursday Iran's big nuclear festival will be held on April 8, for which the IRIB has arranged extensive programs.
Zarghami told reporters, "Peaceful nuclear technology is the absolute right of the Iranian nation and has been gained without foreign aid."
He said relations between Iran and Russia, the two countries enjoying significant position in the region, date as back as more than 400 years, and the US and the West are in efforts to impede their progress.
He then referred to the US deployment of a missile shield in east Europe so as to confront Russia.
He added that the US State Secretary has times and again announced that the project aims to confront Iran, while no child will believe it.
He voiced pleasure with Russian officials' announcement that Russia and not Iran is the main target of the missile project.
During rein of monarchical regime in Iran too the US
used to terrify Iranian people against former Soviet, noted Zarghami.
He hailed extensive presence of Iranian people in the 8th Majlis elections on March 14.
"One of the most important outcomes of the elections was strong public presence. Adoption of a third resolution against Iran by the UN Security Council under the US support too made the public more motivated to take part in the elections," he said.
Elsewhere in the press conference, Zarghami said Iran wants promotion of media cooperation with Russia and using its satellite technology.
He said Iran's annual production of more than 300 films places it in the list of world's top 10 movie producers.
He added that he had reached agreement with the second channel f the Russian state TV on exchanging movies, serials, documentaries and cartoons.
He also hailed extensive cooperation between Iran and Russia in campaign against transit of drugs.
