A plan for setting up Islamic countries' cultural heritage center has been compiled by Kerman province Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Department.

Announcing this, head of the institute, Ali Karnema said Wednesday that the plan was presented in the form of a proposal by President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad during the sixth Islamic Countries Tourism Ministries Summit in Aleppo, Syria, last month.

The plan which took two years to complete is currently being reviewed by expert committees, he noted, adding it will receive final assent if it is approved in the coming meeting of Islamic Countries' Tourism Ministers Summit.

Describing the center as the first regional cultural heritage center in the world, he also said that most of the problems facing the protection of Muslim countries' common cultural and spiritual heritage will go away.

The plan has earlier been approved by Research Center of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization as well as the cabinet, Karnema said.
