Iran-Publishers-Exhibits
Iranian publishers will take part in 12 international book fairs this year (started March 20), said managing director of Iran's Cultural Exhibitions Institute.
Speaking while visiting Chaharmahal-Bakhtiari Book Fair Wednesday, Ehsanollah Hojjati said that Iranian publishers have the potential to take part in leading foreign book events.
Agreements to that effect have been concluded with organizers of a number of international events, he noted.
"Some 22 book fairs will be held in provincial capitals as well as cities which have the capability for hosting the event in the year to March," Hojjati said, adding that in the past year, a total of 20 book fairs were held across the country attracting at least nine million visitors.
Recalling that one of the main approaches for developing culture is by holding provincial book fairs, he also said that the issue has been pursed seriously in the past two years.
The Sixth Chaharmahal-Bakhtiari Book Fair, which is currently underway and will continue until July 27, is featuring 45,000 titles of books by 400 publishers.
