Tehran, July 22, IRNA

Iran-Calligraphy-Festival
Nationwide Calligraphy Festival will be held in Tehran in mid-October.

Announcing this, director of Iran's Association of Calligraphers Abdollah Malekipour further said on the sideline of the exhibition titled 'Song of Men of Pen' in Aran-Bidgol, Isfahan province that the event will be held concurrent with Calligraphy Week.

Stating that the event will seek to portray lofty Islamic teachings and help safeguard identity of the genuine Iranian art, he also said that the festival will be held in all calligraphy branches in cooperation with culture and Islamic guidance departments countrywide.

All calligraphers using all styles can take part in the festival, he noted.

Criticizing some cultural officials for not paying attention to calligraphy associations, Malekipour also said that given the capacity of the centers in countering cultural assault, further attention to them is necessary.
