Iranian publishers accorded warm welcome in Japan

Iranian publishers have been accorded warm welcome in the 15th Tokyo International Book Fair (TIBF 2008).

Announcing this, managing director of Hafez International Publishing Center noted that the event has paved the way for introduction of Iranian culture, history, customs, art and literature.

Abbas Jahangiri stated that the fair is a good opportunity for face-to-face interactions between Iranian and foreign publishers.

TIBF 2008 opened on Thursday (July 10) with a number of Iranian publishers taking part in the event.

The four-day event is being held in Big Sight (Tokyo
International Exhibition Center) in Japan.

Some 36 seminars on various topics, including the impact of book reading on intellectual development of children and young adults will be held during the event.

Broadening cultural exchanges among the participating countries is among the objectives of the event.

TIBF 2008 is the biggest book fair in Japan with the participation of 770 publishing companies from 30 countries, including Iran, Australia, Egypt, South Korea, China, Belgium, the US and Canada.
