3 Iranian films to take part in 10th OSIAN's Cinefan festival in New Delhi

Osian's-Cinefan Festival of Asian and Arab Cinema will celebrate its 10th anniversary from July 10-20 this year at Sirifort Auditorium in New Delhi, with over 150 films from Asia and the Arab world, including three films from the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Iran's films, "Tanhaee" (Loneliness), Directed by Hojat Qasemzadeh Asl, "An Seh" (Those Three), Directed by Naqi Nemati and
"Autobus-e-Shabaneh" (Night Bus), Directed by Kioumars Pourahmad are taking part in Asian & Arab Competition, First Features and In-Tolerance categories, respectively.

Abolfazl Jalili and Saeed Ebrahimifar, the famous director, producer and actor from Iranian film industry have been nominated as Jury members for the two categories, Indian Competition and In-Tolerance.

The Festival will collectively have six juries comprising twenty-two distinguished individuals from the global film community, each of whom brings a unique perspective from every sphere of filmmaking.

Esteemed directors, screenwriters, actors and cinematographers will together preside over the awards selection for the films in competition, deciding the winners in four categories - Asian & Arab, Indian, First Features and In-Tolerance. The new competition section dealing with themes of In-Tolerance has been created this year to showcase feature and documentary films.

This year Osian's-Cinefan has announced over Rs. One Crore (approximately $ 250,000) in prize money for its Competition Sections and Lifetime Achievement Awards. The winners of the Lifetime Achievement Awards will be presented Rs. 800,000 (approx. $ 20,000) each.

The Hong Kong film "Sparrow" by maverick filmmaker Johnny To will be the opening film while the Indian films "Rang Rasiya" by Ketan Mehta and "Mumbai Cutting" which has been directed by eleven prominent directors will be the centerpiece and closing films of the 10th Osian's-Cinefan Festival of Asian and Arab Cinema.

Osian's-Cinefan is organized by Osian's Connoisseurs of Art in association with the Government of the Delhi. Committed to bringing the finest films from India, Asia and Arab countries it aims to break down artistic hierarchies of the popular and the highbrow to reinvent a thoughtful and creative film culture.
