Iran-Majlis-Impeachment
Commerce Minister Massoud Mir-Kazemi is to be impeached by Majlis on Wednesday, Majlis vice-speaker, Mohammad-Reza Bahonar said on Tuesday.

He said that the minister would attend Majlis session to answer questions raised by representatives about the performance of his ministry.

The plan to impeach Mir-Kazemi was presented to Majlis last week.

Criticism mounted on administration of the Commerce Ministry over the dramatic rise in price of rice and other consumer goods.

Mir-Kazemi said that he has made planning to deal with shortage of rice and that the commerce ministry will distribute large amount of rice and other commodities to bring down the prices in a matter of weeks.

He said that the rice crisis was the outcome of obstacles the producing countries have made in the way of exports.
