New Iranian ambassador to Turkey appointed

Bahman Hossein-Pour was appointed as Iran's new ambassador to Turkey, it was announced Wednesday.

Hossein-Pour was appointed to the post based the proposal of Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki and approval of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

The new ambassador has previously served in various capacities including head of Foreign Ministry Protocol, Iran's former Consul General in Istanbul and former ambassador to Ethiopia.
