Mottaki: Rome should not let third party disrupt ties with Tehran

Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki said on Tuesday that current relations between Iran and Italy does not harm any body and it should be safe from probable influence of a third party.

According to the Information and Press Bureau of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mottaki made the remarks in a meeting with outgoing Italian Ambassador to Tehran Roberto Tuscano on Tuesday.

At the meeting, Mottaki said Iran and Italy have always had growing ties and there was no reason to disrupt the process.

Lauding the invaluable services of outgoing Italian ambassador during his tenure, Mottaki said Iran and Italy have a very deeply-rooted historical ties which has created a suitable opportunity for Italy to act as a prominent business partner for Iran.

In conclusion, he said mutual respect, common interests and admiration for each others' peoples have created suitable grounds for a broad-based friendly ties between Iran and Italy.
