Interior minister in Pakistan to seek whereabouts of policemen

An Iranian delegation headed by the country's Interior Ministry caretaker, Mehdi Hashemi, arrived here on Monday for an official visit with senior Pakistani officials.

Hashemi is expected to hold separate meetings with Pakistan's Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani and his Pakistani counterpart A.

Rehman Malik.

The two sides will discuss major bilateral and regional developments.

A number of Iran's security and anti-drugs officials are accompanying Hashemi in his visit to Pakistan.

Hashemi had earlier announced in Tehran that he would visit Islamabad to follow up the case of some 15 Iranian policemen who were taken hostage by notorious armed bandits in southeastern Iran and then were transferred to Pakistan.
