More than 100 people were injured in a chemical accident at the plant of electric manufacturer Bosch, located in the south German city of Bamberg, police announced Friday.
An increasing number of those affected were being treated at local hospitals after complaining of breathing problems and nausea.
No one is however critically ill yet, according to police.
The anti-corrosive protection of metal pieces led to a chemical reaction at a Bosch production hall Friday morning, releasing poisonous vapor.
Bosch employs over 261,300 people in more than 50 countries, among them the US with 24,750 people followed by India with 15,250, Brazil with 14,190 and China with 12,370.
Operating in the area of automotive and industrial technology, consumer goods, and building technology, the German-based Bosch Group reported sales of 43.7 billion euros in 2006.
