West Azarbaijan Governor General Rahim Qorbani, held talks with Iraqi Kurdistan Minister for the Environment, Dara Mohammad Amin Saeed, on issues of mutual interest.

At the meeting, Qorbani voiced the province's readiness for cooperating with the Iraqi Kurdistan.

He said West Azarbaijan enjoys some environment-related capabilities, voicing the province's readiness to cooperate with Iraqi Kurdistan in educational and research fields.

Referring to the spread of bird flue disease in some neighboring countries, he noted that no trace of bird flu has been detected across this province.

Mohammad Amin Saeedi, for his part, referred to the high potentials of West Azarbaijan in the field of environment, calling for signing of bilateral cooperation protocol in the fields of environment, ecology and ecosystem in near future.

Referring to the cultural and geographical commonalities between the two regions, the Iraqi minister stated that currently some foreign experts from Germany and China are cooperating with Iraqi Kurdistan.

He also expressed hope that Iranian experts could cooperate with the Iraqi Kurdistan in near future.
