Solana-Jalili-Talks
EU Foreign Policy Chief Javier Solana here Friday evaluated his Friday phone talk with Iranian nuclear negotiator Saeed Jalili as "positive."
Solana's spokeswomen Christina Gallach reflecting his viewpoints on the matter, added, "The two sides had a positive and constructive conversation, in whose course they agreed to meet personally to pursue the talks."
She added, "Iran's Security Council secretary mentioned having forwarded Iran's official response to the 5+1 incentives package, signed by Iran's Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki."
The 5+1 letter of incentives is said to be prepared aimed at encouraging Iran to suspend uranium enrichment, which the West says might be aimed at military purposes, but Iran emphatically stresses is for providing nuclear fuel for its peaceful nuclear activities.
