Non-oil commodities exports from Gilan up

Export of non-oil commodities from Gilan province increased by three million dollar during the first quarter of the Iranian year (Started March 20).

Announcing this on Monday, a supervisor at the provincial customs office noted that some 138,180 tons of commodities, worth dlrs 80.2 million, were exported from the province during the period.

Gholam Hossein Nouhi said that the main exported items were fresh fruits, nuts, agricultural crops, industrial products, construction materials and minerals.

He listed Russia, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, the UAE, Armenia, Turkey and Iraq as the main export markets.

"Over 1.7 million tons of goods, worth dlrs 835.2 million, were imported via provincial customs office during the same period," he said.

Nouhi said that the main items imported to the province were iron ware, machinery, wood, industrial and electronic devices and rice.

"Some 65,943 tons of goods, worth dlrs 93.4 million, have been transited from the Central Asian countries to the aforesaid countries," the official added.
