President: Gov't bent on eliminating deprivation

Iran-President
President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said on Monday that the government tries to minimize deprivation.

"The government wants to improve standard of living in provinces.

the government tries to lower the deprivation level," said President Ahmadinejad in a meeting with a group of lawmakers representing Isfahan province.

He welcomed Majlis approval of a bill on campaign against drought and said strong votes given to the bill has changed the atmosphere governing the country and made people more hopeful.

He said establishment of necessary establishments for tackling unemployment is the key to solving the problem.

The parliamentarians voiced support for the government.
