President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said here Thursday that international campaign is needed against the dreadful and lethal drug smuggling gangs and Iran is serious in fighting the phenomenon, which has targeted man's dignity.
"Today, the Islamic Republic of Iran is decisive, serious and forerunner in the way but in order to promote man's dignity and undermine puppy cultivation, more efforts are needed. Campaign against the dreadful and lethal gangs needs international determination," said President Ahmadinejad in a video-conference address to a ceremony marking the world day of campaign against drugs consumption and smuggling.
Citing Iran as a drugs campaign victim and an obstacle on the way of narcotics smuggling, President Ahmadinejad said that Iran has today launched widest, most serious and organized campaign against the drugs.
He said that all international organizations should today try to fight drugs because it inflicts enormous social damage on community of human beings.
"I think the time has come for the false advocates (of campaign against drugs) worldwide to reconsider their attitude towards the phenomenon and their hidden link to the smuggling networks," he announced.
He hoped for a world free of drugs and addicts.
