Bahrain welcomes formation of parliamentary friendship group with Iran

Bahraini Speaker Khalifa bin Ahmed al-Dharhrani has welcomed the plan to set up parliamentary friendship group with Iran.

Al-Dharhrani made the remark in a meeting Iran's Labor Attache in Bahrain Mohammad-Javad Nazari-Mehr. He added that the effort will help upgrade the level of parliamentarian cooperation between the two friendly countries.

In the meeting, the speaker said that Bahrain views prospects for political and trade cooperation with Islamic countries with an aim of meeting the interests of the nations.

Expressing readiness to support all efforts to foster bilateral relations between Tehran and Manama, he said that Bahrain is keen on expanding ties in different fields, particularly in
inter-parliamentary cooperation.

He further appreciated current trade ties between Iran and Bahrain, adding that Manama underlines the need for continuing and expanding cooperation in the interests of both Islamic nations.

Nazari-Mehr, who is completing his mission in Manama, has been elected to the eighth Majlis from Golestan province.
