Iran's Ambassador to Belgium, Ali-Asghar Khaji briefed a senior member of the country's parliament on Monday on Tehran's proposed package to solve regional and international crises.
In a meeting with the head of the group of Belgian parliaments's Christian Democratic and Flemish representatives, Verher Straten, the Iranian diplomat said the package of proposals was an initiative to help promote a justice-based peace and security worldwide.
On April 13, Iran's Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki announced that the country was preparing a package to help resolve the regional and international problems.
The package was later rendered to the UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon and head of the UN Security Council as well as foreign ministers of China and Russia, the Group 5+1 through the EU Foreign Policy chief, Javier Solana, and Switzerland.
It is also to be submitted to the member states of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) and to the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC).
The package contained initiatives to solve the world political, security, economic and energy problems and would help make breakthrough to resolve international crises.
"As the world is facing serious challenges in various fields, it is a duty to all powerful and influential countries at the regional and international arena to provide proper solutions to them," Khaji told the Belgian MP.
He added that Iran's proposed package referred to major political, security, economic and nuclear issues providing proper initiatives to tackle current international challenges in those fields.
Khaji also voiced Tehran's readiness to cooperate with all influential countries to deal with those challenges.
The Christian Democratic and Flemish Party of Belgian parliament has the majority in that country's bicameral legislative body with 30 out of 150 seats in the Chamber of Representatives and 14 out of 71 seats in the Senate.
