Ahmadinejad calls for expansion of Iran-Lithuania ties

President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad called here Monday for expansion of relations between Iran and Lithuania.

President Ahmadinejad made the remark in a meeting with the new Lithuanian Accredited ambassador to Tehran.

The president underlined that it is necessary to utilize existing potentials to broaden cooperation between the two countries.

After receiving the credentials the new Lithuanian accredited ambassador, Ahmadinejad said Iran is ready to further expand cooperation with Lithuania, adding that Iran will spare no efforts to this end.

There are huge untapped economic potentials in the two countries in the fields of tourism, industry, research, science and technology, he said.

The Lithuanian diplomat, for his part, voiced his country's willingness to broaden ties with Tehran and said Lithuania calls for expansion of all-out relations and cooperation with Iran in the fields of economy, politics, culture, tourism and exchange of university students.
