Iran-Hosseini-Reporters
Foreign Ministry spokesman, Mohammad-Ali Hosseini, said on Monday that Israel is trying to damage the friendly relations between the regional and Islamic states, including Iran-Saudi ties.
Talking to reporters during his weekly press briefing, he hoped that remarks made on behalf of the Saudi foreign minister are not correct.
"The base for our judgment is official stand which will be announced by the Saudi officials," he added.
Tehran believes that the Tel Aviv regime is trying to harm the brotherly ties between the Muslim and regional states, he noted.
Referring to the potentials in both Iran and Saudi Arabia for further expansion of bilateral cooperation in different areas, Hosseini underscored the need for making use of those potentials for defending the rights of Muslims, including the Palestinians.
Any third country should not be allowed to tar relations between Muslim countries, he said.
On Iran-US talks on Iraq, he said Tehran has announced that the talks would be postponed due to the US military operations in Iraq five years after occupation, a reference to air raids on residential areas in Sadr City, southern suburb of Baghdad, killing scores of children and women.
The talks will be fruitless as long as no change is witnessed in Washington's policy regarding the Iraqi people, he added.
