Iran-President-Nuclear
President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad voiced on Wednesday Iran's readiness to talk about different issues but stressed the nation's obvious rights are not negotiable.
He made the remarks addressing a meeting of war veterans and families of wartime martyrs in the northern province of Golestan while commenting on recent requests from Iran for holding talks on its nuclear issue.
The president referred to Iranians as the "real winners" of the country's nuclear dispute with the West and stressed, "All nations have understood now that bearing the lowest cost, Iran became a nuclear state and joint the nuclear countries."
He added, "Enemies are not capable of preventing Iranians from making nuclear progress."
Referring to the European Union's package of incentives for Iran on its nuclear activities, the president said, "Now they came for talks and offered some proposals. We have also presented some proposals to them. The Iranian nation favors peace and dialogue and is a justice-seeking people."
President Ahmadinejad stressed that Iranians had no eye on rights of any other nation.
"If you are to hold honest talks in a fair atmosphere, then the people of Iran will welcome talking to you," President Ahmadinejad added addressing Western countries.
However, he warned Western states of imposing limits on Iranian nation.
"If you think that, under the pretext of holding talks or presenting proposals, you can set limits for the Iranian people or impose even a slightest issue on them, you are making a mistake.
"Iranians are wise and will not give up their legal rights one iota," said the president.
Noting that Tehran would study the proposals, President Ahmadinejad warned the Western countries against even thinking of sowing discord or making a division among Iranian nation.
"The people of Iran is united and will stand against your expansionism."
Head of the Supreme National Security Council stressed that no one in Iran was to retreat from the rights of the nation.
