Palestine-Religious RIghts-60th Anniversary
Establishment of a cent percent Jewish state and total annihilation of sacred land of Palestine's Islamic-Christian identity was the initial objective of International Zionism's nasty project of establishing a counterfeit regime in Mideast.
That is the reason why the racist Zionists have been trying their best throughout the past six decades to Judicize Palestine, and particularly the occupied Holy Qods, thus absolutely trampling upon the religious rights of the followers of entire religions, save for the Zionist version of Judaism.
in the year 1948 the Zionists managed to establish the Jewish state at almost 80% of Palestine's territory, which was their first step in Judicizig that holy land, taking advantage of more than 800,000 armed to teeth Zionist soldiers.
In the course of committing that criminal act of war the Zionists made homeless 700,000 Muslims and 100,000 Christians, razing to ground 482 Arab villages.
In addition to invading against the aboriginal residents of Palestine, the Zionists raided the entire non-Jewish religious centers in that holy land and began broad violation of the religious rights of the Palestinian Muslims, Christians and other non-Jews alike.
Due to the fact that the Holy Qods City and Al-Aqsa Mosque both have great significance for the followers of all monotheist faiths, both of them have always been targeted constantly as of the beginning of the occupation of the holy land of Palestine by the usurper Zionists, focusing on details of which calls for presentation of an exclusive statistical report, that is beyond the capacity of this report.
In this article IRNA has tried to refer very briefly to the issue of the occupied Holy Qods, and then focus on details of issues other than the sad fate of Al-Aqsa Mosque.
FACTS AND FIGURES
Based on statistics issued by the Supreme Islamic Council of Holy Qods, following the 1948 occupation of Palestine by Zionist military forces Al-Aqsa Mosque was mainly destroyed, while 14 other historic mosques were turned to non-religious centers, such as factories, bars, night clubs, etc.
Meanwhile, during the few years following that brutal attack the Zionists destroyed 310 Islamic cemeteries, crashing the entire grave stones in them to dust using bulldozers. It might be interesting for some jet setter tourists to know that Tel Aviv's luxurious five star Hilton Hotel is built on the ruins of one of those Islamic cemeteries!
In addition to that, the Zionists seized and occupied the endowed lands at 12 cities that they had occupied at the beginning and at many villages changed the usage of endowed Islamic and Christian properties both in favor of Jewish synagogues and for establishment of non-religious centers, including bars and night clubs.
During the course of the 1967 War, the Israeli war planes heavily bombed the historic old quarter of Holy Qods, including Al-Aqsa Mosque, during which one of the minarets of the mosque that was Islam's first 'Qibla' (direction towards which world Muslims perform their daily prayers) was destroyed.
In order to build a square in front of the Wailing Wall, the Zionists destroyed 135 buildings, mosques, and endowments using dynamites.
On August 26th, 1967, twenty Muslim and Christian leaders of Holy Qods sent a message to the Secretary General of the United Nations of the time, severely condemning the Zionists' broad and shameless violations of religious rights on countless occasions, presenting lots of proof for their call to end the blasphemous, sick practice.
Meanwhile, the Israeli authorities violated the religious rights of Muslims at the Shrine of Abraham the Friend at Al-Khalil, restricting visits of that historic, most sacred place to a few short hours on Fridays only.
In the year 1972, the head of the Supreme Islamic Council of Holy Qods of the time, Sheikh Helmi al-Muhtasab, said, "Today, the holy Shrine of Abraham the Friend resembles more a Jewish synagogue than an Islamic mosque."
In the year 1975 the Israelis plotted a new trick, allocating only two chambers of that sacred mosque to the Muslims and the remaining three to the Jews.
According to Al-Aqsa Research Institute, from the year 1948 to 2000 Israel destroyed 2,200 mosques and other religious centers in occupied Palestine.
It is also worth noting that in accordance with the Criminal Law passed at Israel's Kneset in the year 1997, insulting religious centers and destroying them is forbidden, and Tel Aviv has recognized the sanctity of the Muslims' religious places.
Yet, even after that date Tel Aviv has not only not ended such shameless practices, but has even intensified and aggravated their dimensions.
