Iranian, Turkish officials discuss promotion of bilateral ties

Governor of this provincial city in northwestern Iran, Ebrahim Mohammadlou, discussed promotion of bilateral ties with his counterpart from Turkish province of Van, Ozdemin Cakacak, on Thursday.

Mohammadlou praised the efforts made by Iranian and Turkish border officials to safeguard peace and security along the two neighboring states joint borders.

He also praised efforts made by the two capitals to facilitate road transportation between the two countries.

Cakacak, for his part, hailed Iran's efforts in fighting smugglers in border areas.

He stressed that the two capitals would continue their struggles against smugglers more seriously.

Cakacak is in Khoy on a two-day visit to discuss further relations between the Iranian and Turkish provinces and prepare the grounds for an upcoming economic meeting by Iranian and Turkish businessmen.
