A concerned official said the first day of talks between Deputy IAEA Chief Olli Heinonen and Iranian officials in the venue of Iran's Atomic Energy Organization headquarter here ended on Monday.

The official, who asked not to be named, told IRNA the negotiation will continue on Tuesday.

An informed source also told IRNA that Deputy Head of Supreme National Security Council in International Affairs Javad Vaeedi did not attend today's talk and Iran's Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the International Atomic Energy Agency( IAEA) Ali Asghar Soltanieh headed Iranian delegation while IAEO deputy head in International Affairs Mohammad Saeedi was a member of delegation.

In his 2-day visit to Iran, Heinonen is accompanied by IAEA Director for Safeguards Operations Herman Nackaerts.

Another informed source told IRNA that the IAEA delegation will not visit Iran's nuclear installations and will depart Iran after their 2-day talks on Wednesday.

A concerned official had already told IRNA that the aim of Heinonen's visit to Tehran is to consider the progress of cooperation between Iran and IAEA.

The official did not deny the possibility of talks on purported studies, but underlined that upon Iran's viewpoint the issue has ended and Tehran had presented its evaluation on it.

He said, "The talks indicate Iran's good will and its peaceful nuclear program."
IAEA's Spokeswoman Melisa Fleming had already announced that the IAEA delegation will talk about purported studies with Iranian officials.

A number of countries, including the USA, before publication of Mohammad ElBaradei's report on February 22, 2008, presented new claims about Iran's peaceful nuclear program to challenge ElBaradei's report and the positive cooperation between Iran and IAEA.
