Tutu criticizes America's response to Iran

Pretoria, Sept25, Irna South Africa-Iran-Tutu Nobel Peace Laureate Desmond Tutu has criticized the American government saying it should be more open to discussions with Iran if it wants peace between the nations.

Speaking at an event at the Princeton Club in New York City, Tutu said that the recent diplomatic efforts were nothing more than 'playing marbles'.

"Negotiations are not things that happen between friends, they happen between enemies, especially the ones you can't stand... If you want peace, you speak to the people you find most unacceptable." Tutu said.

According to dispatches, the Arch Bishop Emeritus has also urged the world not to simply stand by and watch the situation in Myanmar unfold.

Tutu's voiced his support for the 100 000 Buddhist monks who marched against the military junta in the country this weekend.
