Secretary of Supreme National Security Council Saeed Jalili said Friday that Iran will offer response to the letter of the G5+1 Foreign Ministers and the EU Foreign Policy Chief Javier Solana on Friday.
"The Islamic Republic of Iran has based on an agreement reached with Solana prepared and offered response to his and the six states' foreign ministers' letter with an approach of concentrating on commonalities and with a constructive and creative attitude. On this basis, the Islamic Republic of Iran's response to letter of foreign ministers of six states and the EU Foreign Policy Chief will be delivered today," said Jalili in a phone call with Solana.
Jalili said, "Iranian people should not be made more distrustful by certain behaviors as some actions in the past have provoked reactions on part of our Majlis and public opinion."
Thanking Iran for its goodwill and for responding to the letter, Solana voiced pleasure over agreement for resumption of talks.
He said that the G5+1 and he do not seek an action which would blur the ongoing positive atmosphere and said, "I am confident that in light of positive measures, the atmosphere of talks will become constructive and promising."
The two sides in the phone call reached agreement on holding talks mid July.
