Sudan-Iran-Ahmadinejad
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad arrived in the Sudanese capital, Khartoum, on Wednesday. On hand to welcome him at the airport was Sudanese President Omar Hassan Ahmad al-Bashir.
During an official welcoming ceremony held at Khartoum's airport, the national anthems of both countries were played and the two presidents reviewed a guard of honor.
President Ahmadinejad's current visit is taking place at the invitation of his Sudanese counterpart.
Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki, Minister of Industries and Mines Ali-Reza Tahmasbi, Minister of Agriculture Jihad Mohammad-Reza Eskandari and Majlis Article 90 Commission Chairman Mohammad-Reza Faker are accompanying the president in his two-day visit.
The two presidents are scheduled to begin private talks after the ceremony. Their talks will be followed by a first round of talks of senior delegations of the two countries.
The Iranian president is scheduled to meet and address Sudan's religious ulema this afternoon.
