Some ten historical monuments in Shahroud, Semnan province, were registered on the national heritage list, bringing the number of registered edifices in the city to 151.

Announcing this, head of Shahroud Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Office, Alireza Karimi said on Wednesday that the monuments include five historical forts as well as the same number of mounds.

With the registration of the sites on the list, any act causing damage to them is prohibited and restoration works on them should be undertaken under the supervision of the office.
