Iran's Vice-President and Head of the Physical Education Organization Mohammad Aliabadi said here Thursday that the Chinese nation's successful holding of the Olympic Games would be an honor for all Asian nations.

Aliabadi arrived in Beijing Thursday at the head of a sports delegation to attend the opening ceremonies of the 29th Olympic Games in China.

Signing the memorial book of the Olympics, the vice-president expressed hope that such a great sports event would be held successfully.

The 29th Olympic Games in Beijing is scheduled to start on Friday and end on August 24.
