The chairman of the hardline faction of the Hurriyat Conference, Syed Ali Shah Geelani, Friday said that the centre had given the green signal to allot the state's chief ministership to the National Conference this time, and that the speeches of Omar Abdullah and Mahbooba Mufti in the parliament were nothing but political jugglery.

Addressing a seerat conference in south Kashmir, Geelani said that pro-India parties were hand-in-glove with each other and their warring statements were nothing but dirty politicking.

Repeating his call for a total boycott of the upcoming assembly elections, Geelani said that former Indian intelligence chief, A.S.

Dulat's statement that the Omar Abdullah would be the next chief minister of the state had exposed the reality of the election farce in Jammu and Kashmir.

"It would be more proper to call this exercise a military operation rather than an election," he said.

"The Kashmiri people have rejected pro-India parties, because it is the policy-makers in Delhi who installed the PDP in power the last time, and the draw of lots has fallen in favor of the National Conference this time," he said.

Describing the parliament speeches of Omar Abdullah and Mahbooba Mufti as jugglery, Geelani ridiculed Omar for saying that 'the Shrine Board issue was a matter of our land and we will fight for it.' "It is the National Conference that has sold the entire Jammu and Kashmir to India, and promoted its own interests in return," he said.

"The party has exposed its hypocrisy in the past also by allying with the BJP. They are opportunists who change their colors with the passing seasons," he said.

"Pro-India are parties are thick as thieves with each other, and their warring statements are nothing more than dirty politics," he said.

"The Kashmiri people have nothing to do with whoever the Indian army makes the chief minister in the state, and Kashmiris will put pro-India parties in their place in the coming election drama," he said.

"The government of India must understand that election dramas cannot help in resolving the Kashmir issue. Holding a plebiscite is the easiest and the most democratic way to resolve the issue," he said.

"If the people of the state choose India in the plebiscite, it might certainly dismay me, but I will accept the decision," he said.

Geelani announced that his alliance would be holding a historic rally at the Martyrs Graveyard in Srinagar on August 24, and called upon all people to attend.
