Tehran, July 20, IRNA

Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki said on Sunday that presence of US representative in Geneva talks prepared an opportunity for Washington to become aware of Iran's views directly.

Talking to reporters at the end of a cabinet session, he said such a move by the US administration can be considered a positive measure.

US Undersecretary of State William Burns attended the nuclear talks held between Iran's top nuclear negotiator Saeed Jalili and the EU foreign policy chief Javier Solana Saturday in Geneva.

On Iran's proposal presented in the Geneva talks, he said during his Tehran visit, Solana proposed a draft of modality plan for negotiations. Tehran studied the draft, he added.

Tehran has also provided the EU with its proposed modality on the issue which will be studied by the European states in the next few days, Mottaki added.

On the next round of nuclear talks, the foreign minister said the date and place of talks have not yet determined.

Meanwhile, Secretary of Supreme National Security Council, Saeed Jalili said during the next round of talks, the two sides should reach an action plan to resolve the dispute.

"A framework should be set up, then any kind of decision with that framework will be understandable," he told reporters in Geneva after his meeting with representatives of the Group 5+1.

Jalili said in the meeting that Iran prefers the "six plus one" action plan rather than "seven minus one".
