Nigerian new ambassador submits copy of his credentials to FM

Nigerian new ambassador to Tehran submitted a copy of his credentials to Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki here on Monday.


According to the report of Foreign Ministry Media Department, Mottaki said Iran's hundred-year experience in the fields of oil and gas is an appropriate opportunity for Nigeria to develop cooperation with Iran.

He reminded Iranian companies readiness to implement industrial and developing projects in Nigeria and added, "Decreasing tariffs and granting facilities to both countries companies, holding trade fairs and using academic potentials are among fields for increasing bilateral and multilateral cooperation.

Al-Haj Abubakr Chika, the new Nigerian ambassador, for his part, by referring to the old Iran-Nigeria ties said, "Iran is a big country in the region and common stances and cooperation between Tehran and Abuja in D8 Group, the UN, and Non-Aligned Movement indicates the depth of mutual ties between the two countries.

He added Nigeria will try to promote its economic relations to the level of its political ties.
