Spain new ambassador to Tehran submitted a copy of his credentials to Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki here Monday.

According to the report of Foreign Ministry Media Department, Mottaki in the meeting by referring to the fields of cooperation between the two countries said, "The existing commonalities are good potentials for developing ties."
He added, "There are plenty of fields to promote bilateral cooperation and we hope practical steps can be taken in this regards."
The Spanish new Ambassador to Tehran Leopoldo Stampa, for his part, by referring to the old and deep ties between Iran and Spain, especially in the field of culture, underlined Iran can play an important role in solving problems and creating stability in the region .

Expressing hope that exchange level between the two countries can be increased, the new envoy said, "Spain's businessmen are interested to boost their trades with Iran."
