Iran-Algeria-Cooperation
Iran's Minister of Housing and Urban Development Mohammad Saeedi-Kia on Monday called for expanding cooperation between Tehran and Algiers.
Saeedi-Kia, who is also co-chairman of Iran-Algeria joint Economic Commission, said that grounds are well-prepared for mutual cooperation.
In a meeting with Algerian President of Chamber of Commerce Ibrahim bin Jaber, Saeedi-Kia said that Iran is ready to cooperate with Algeria at high level considering two countries' interests.
Referring to two agreements already signed on launching cement producing plant and wagon manufacturing unit, he highlighted longstanding ties between the two nations and the cultural common grounds as the means to facilitate cooperation.
The Algerian side, for his part, welcomed cooperation with Iranian companies due to the country's need to the construction materials.
Heading a high-ranking economic delegation, Saeedi-Kia arrived in Algiers on Monday to attend the third joint economic commission.
During his three-day visit, he held talks with the Algerian officials on mutual ties.
He is also scheduled to meet with the country's Prime Minister Ahmed Ouyahia.
