Quake hits northwestern Iran

Iran-Quake-Ardebil
An earthquake measuring 4.1 on the Richter scale shook the vicinity of Givi in Ardebil province (northwestern Iran) early Monday morning.


The Geophysics Institute of Tehran University, registered the tremor at 09:03 hours local time (0433 GMT).

The earthquake was epicentered in an area located in 48.17 degrees east in longitude and 37.82 degrees north in latitude.

There are no reports of any casualty or damage to property caused by the quake.

Iran is often shaken by quakes of varying magnitudes as it sits on some of the world's most active seismic fault lines.
