Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Mohammad Hossein Saffar-Harandi said that the future belongs to the digital media as it will influence all cultural aspects in a not-too distant future.

Addressing the first meeting of Policy-making Council of the Second Festival and Exhibition on Digital Media Saturday, he further said that given its significance and increasing role in the country, digital media is an opportunity for the Islamic Revolution.

Stating that the ministry is trying to compensate drawbacks in the field with a special approach, he called for cooperation by all cultural institutes to help organize the festival as an important cultural event.

"We should seize the opportunities properly so as to counter cultural threats," he said.

The minister also urged the organizers of the festival to promote digital media among the public, try to convey cultural messages of the event to the visitors and hold the festival in a popular manner.

He also hoped that the festival will serve as an opportunity for identifying brilliant talents and support those who, in spite of having backgrounds in producing cultural digital products, are lacking sufficient capital to enter the field.
