Quake jolts western Iran

Iran-Quake-Lorestan
An earthquake measuring 4.3 on the Richter scale hit the city of Kouh-Dasht in the western province of Lorestan early Sunday morning.


The Geophysics Institute of Tehran University, registered the tremor at 02:49 hours local time (22:19 GMT Saturday).

The earthquake was epicentered in an area located in 47.26 degrees east in longitude and 33.39 degrees north in latitude.

There are no reports of any casualty or damage to property caused by the quake.

Iran is often hit by quakes of varying magnitudes as it sits on some of the world's most active seismic fault lines.
