Iran, Japan enjoy deeply-rooted cultural ties

Iran's Ambassador to Tokyo Abbas Araqchi said on Thursday that cultural ties between Iran an Japan are very deeply rooted.


He made the remark in an opening ceremony of the 15th Tokyo Book Fair 2008.

Speaking to IRNA, he said Iran and Japan have always cooperated in cultural fields and exchanged invaluable experiences to this end.

Active presence of Iranian publishers could help deepen cultural ties between the two nations, he said.

He expressed the hope that the Japanese publishers would play a much more active role in Iranian cultural fairs.
