Iran-Ancient Sites-Map
A comprehensive digital map and website featuring information on Tehran province's historical sites are available online.

The plan, which is unique in its kind, was implemented by the Institute of Archeology upon the order of the provincial Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Department.

Those interested can access the map and website at
www.tchto-portal.ir or at the site of Archeology Institute http://archeology.ut.ac.ir, which provide a comprehensive collection of information about Tehran province's ancient sites in digital form.

The reasons behind the plan are to manage cultural resources and provide information to tourists as well as easy access to related information for researchers.

Most important information include identity, natural and geographical locations, state of registration, research priority, potential for attracting tourists, archeological evidence, documents, pictures, plans and texts pertaining to each site.
